Yes. Campermen founder was a camping enthusiast, too. He bought a soft shell roof top tent for his pickup in 2016 and at the beginning he could not even find a place in the city to mount it onto the rear of his pickup. It was clear that a gap in the domestic industry exists and he believed demand for such equipment was high.
He engaged in commerce during his higher education abroad. After completing his higher education, he had come back home to his family in Turkey and had been continuing business life. Because he had been grown inside production environment, he was confident on manufacturing roof top tents. He started manufacturing fiberglass shell roof top tents in his father's workshop. Taking videos of the first tents, he advertised them in Internet. With the money made from the sales, he bought raw materials and continued manufacturing tents. All sales revenues are spent on the company today, too.
He was manufacturing the first tents by his handcraft himself and his father's workshop had not enough space for himself. For this reason, he rent a wider workshop and hired workers for fiber molding, welding, sewing and montage. As time went, roof top tent manufacturing became the focused activity of the family business and the company Campermen started.
